Guntur Chicken Masala

Ingredients

For Cooking
Boneless Chicken – 300 gms
Curd – 1/2 cup
Onion – 1 no
Tomato – 2 nos
Green Chili – 3 nos
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
Water – 1/2 cup
Curry Leaves
Salt
Oil

For Masala
Coriander Seeds – 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Peppercorns – 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek Seeds – 1/4 tsp
Red Chili – 4 nos
Grated Coconut – 2 tbsp

Method

Marinate the chicken with lemon juice, curd, salt
Mix it well and let it sit for 20 mins
Dry roast all the ingredients for the masala
Let it cool and grind it to a fine paste with some water
Heat a pan with oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and let it splutter
Add garam masala, onions, green chili, ginger garlic paste and saute
Add tomatoes, and saute well
Add salt, turmeric powder, and the ground masala paste and cook well
Add the marinated chicken pieces, add water and cook for 15 mins
Add some curry leaves and mix well
Serve the Guntur Chicken hot
