Learn How To Make Masala Dosa on Masala Trails With Smita Deo. This Masala Dosa Recipe by Chef Smita Deo is quick and easy to make recipe that you can make at your home easily.
Masala dosa or masale dose is a variant of the popular South Indian food dosa, which has its origins in Tulu Mangalorean cuisine made popular by the Udupi hotels all over India.

Ingredients:-

For the Batter:-
Soaked Split Black Gram
Soaked Rice With Fenugreek Seeds

For the Potato Filling:-
Oil
Asafoetida
Black Mustard Seeds
Green Chillies
Curry Leaves
Sliced Onions
Turmeric Powder
Salt
Cubed Boiled Potatoes
Lemon Juice

Method:-

The Batter:-
Take the soaked split black gram and the soaked rice with fenugreek seeds in a mixer/grinder and grind to form a fine batter. Add water if needed. Once done, mix the batter and leave for fermentation for 7-8 hours.

The Potato Filling:-
Heat the oil in a pan and once it’s hot add asafoetida, black mustard seeds, green chillies, curry leaves and onions. Saute this mixture till the onions are transluscent and then add turmeric powder, salt and potatoes. Squeeze lemon juice on top of it.

The Dosa:-
Add salt to the batter and mix it well. Take a non-stick pan and heat it moderately. Pour the batter on it and spread it in a circular motion. Pour oil to make it crisp. Now add the potato filling in the corner of the dosa and then roll it.

Scrumptious Masala Dosa is ready to be served!
