Ingredients

Parboiled rice/ Puzhukalari – 2 cups.
Grated coconut – ½ of a coconut.
Shallots sliced – 12 nos
Cumin powder – 2 tbsp.
Rice flour – as needed.

Method

Wash and soak the rice in water for at least 5hrs. Grind the rice in small batches with just enough water to a coarse mixture.Do not add too much water. It does not have to be finely ground, a coarse paste is fine.

Grate coconut, shallots, cumin powder in a blender without adding water.

Add the coconut mixture to the ground rice. Add salt. Mix well. Try making small balls with the above mixture. If the mix is watery add rice flour as needed.

Rub your hands with oil/water. Make small balls with the mix, flatten them to a disc shape. Deep fry in oil at medium flame.

Move to a serving dish and Enjoy!!!
