Irritable bowel syndrome is a common digestive disorder. In this condition, the normal rhythmic muscle contractions of the intestines that move food through the digestive tract become irregular and uncoordinated. 1. Fiber: Regulates bowel movement

Foods to consume: Oats or oat bran, brown rice, nuts, flax seed powder and fruits like apples, bananas, pears, and papaya. Also eat vegetables like carrots, cucumbers, and beetroot

2. Alfalfa seeds and aloe vera: Heals digestive system

3. Probiotics: Improves digestion

Foods to consume: Yogurt

4. Herbs: Enhances digestive capacity of intestine

Foods to consume: Coriander seeds, dried ginger powder, asafoetida, cumin seeds and fennel seeds

Recipe 1: Beetroot cutlet

1. Heat 1 tbsp sunflower oil in pan
2. Add 1 chopped onion to it
3. Saute the onions until it turns golden
4. Add 2 boiled, peeled and grated beetroots in it
5. Saute this mixture till it becomes dry for about 7-8 min
6. Once dry, add ½ red chilly powder
7. Add salt to taste
8. Also, add ¼ tsp dry mango powder – amchur
9. Mix all this well
10. Remove this beetroot mixture in a bowl
11. Now add 2 boiled and mashed potatoes in it
12. Also, add 2 tbsp cornstarch powder and mix this all
thoroughly
13. Now make small cutlets of this mixture

You can even use cutlet molds to give them a perfect shape

14. Now take some corn starch powder in a small plate
15. Dust the cutlets with the cornstarch powder

This will make the cutlets firm and will not allow them to break while frying

16. Heat 1 tbsp sunflower oil in a frying pan
17. Place the cutlets on the pan
18. Fry these cutlets till it becomes crisp for about 5-8 min on
each side
19. Remove in a serving dish
20. Serve hot with mint chutney
