The instant we hear dahi phulki, it reminds us dahi vada or dahi bhalla. What is the difference between dahi phulki and dahi bhalla or dahi vada? Dahi phulki is more soft and airy texture than dahi vada or dahi balla. Dahi phulki is made with chickpea flour or besan flour whereas dahi vada is made with urad dal and which has to be kept aside for fermentation. Both these snacks are immersed in curd or dahi making it softer and tastier. Try this delicious recipe for your evening hunger pangs.

Let us go through the recipe details of dahi phulki. For making this snack we need besan powder or chickpea powder, curd, dry chilies, garlic, curry leaves, hing powder, etc. Mix thoroughly besan powder, salt, hing powder, onion paste, and garlic chili jeera paste. Keep it aside for 10 to 12 minutes. The next step is preparing the dahi or curd mixture. Take two cups of thick curd in a bowl and add a little sugar, salt to taste, roasted cumin powder, a tablespoon of garlic chili jeera paste, and chaat masala powder. Mix it thoroughly. If the dahi mixture is too thick, add some water. Make the besan balls by frying the besan mixture little by little. Then add the besan balls into the dahi mixture. Season it with curry leaves, dry chilies, and cumin seeds. Enjoy.
