How to make Malaysian Curry Puffs | Karipap Recipe – Malaysian curry puffs is a savory snack in Malaysia. Ingredients for making Karipap:

Wheat flour

Plam oil

Onion

Ginger

Star anise

Cinnamon stick

Curry powder

Chicken powder

Potato

Sugar

Salt

Hot water

For making Karipap dough; heat a pan, and pour Malaysian palm oil. Then pour the heated oil over the wheat flour. You have to make sure that it is completely hot before you pour over the wheat flour. Whisk the mixture until crumbly. Then add salt, pour cold water, and knead it until you get a soft dough. Place the dough in a bowl and then cover the bowl with a plastic wrap.

The next step is the preparation of Karipap filling. For that heat a pan; pour some palm oil. Add onion, ginger, star anise, and cinnamon stick and sauté well. Then add curry powder and hot water. Stir it well. Once you see the spices are cooked enough, you can add diced potatoes. Add more water and mix well. Now add other ingredients such as sugar, salt, and chicken powder. Cook until the potatoes become soft and set aside.

For folding, portion the dough into small balls. Flatten the dough evenly. Place the filling in the middle of the dough and fold, then pinch or crimp around the edges and deep fry until become golden colour. Curry puffs are ready to serve.
