Soan papdi is prepared with simple ingredients; besan powder, all-purpose flour, sugar, ghee, and any flavoring agents and pistachios for garnishing. Preparation of soan papdi is a little bit tricky but following the proper methods and instructions in the video, one can make soan papdi at home easily.

It’s very fascinating to watch the different transition stages of sugar while preparing saon papdi. Sugar is caramelized first. It is then brought together before it starts losing its heat. Then it is folded and spiraled many times until it becomes a stretchy sugar strand. Then comes the interesting part, The sugar strand is spread over the besan and maida mixture in a loop form. Then starts the stretching process, sugar strands are stretched and folded, again stretched and folded many times until it forms long golden thin strands. Then it is placed inside the desired mould and cut into pieces.
